Sonja Willier is the Principal of Our Lady of Peace Elementary School with Edmonton Catholic Schools.  Our Lady of Peace School is a Christ-centered community that fosters a healthy mind, body, and spirit.  Through collaboration, inquiry, critical thinking and reflection we empower our students to be engaged thinkers (mind), energized learners (body), and ethical citizens (spirit).  We believe that everyone is welcome and has a ‘place in the circle’ as we learn. Cultural awareness and diversity is at the root of who we are and how we learn.

Sonja has been an administrator for 18 years and has held various leadership roles within her District, including education consultant in Indigenous Education (5 years) as well as ECSD Principal of Diversity and Inclusion (3 yrs).  She is from Sucker Creek First Nation, in Northern Alberta/Treaty 8 Territory, and is proud to help keep her Cree language and culture alive and thriving at Our Lady of Peace School.
